The Shelter Endowment Fund provides hope for tomorrow in perpetuity. Annual distributions augment normal DASF fundraising to perpetuate critical adoption, medical, and other DASF programs for shelter pets.
Endowment funds are entirely segregated from any other DASF funds. Under strict legal guidelines, a special Endowment Committee manages the funds and oversees all aspects of the endowment. The committee is composed of both DASF board members and non-board members.
The funds are completely donor directed through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) executed between the donor and DASF. The donor designates support for any or all of the DASF programs: Adoption Subsidy, Medical, or Facility/Supplies for use of their donation.
Annual distribution amounts are usually limited to earned interest and perhaps a small fraction of the principle, depending upon donor specification. The Shelter Endowment Fund will build over time and always be available to help shelter pets.

Cumulative donations of $2,500 and more are acknowledged on The Shelter Endowment Honor Plaque located in the Linda McNatt Animal Care & Adoption Center. These donations may be designated in memory, in honor, or with a short caption. Updates to the plaque are made upon receipt of the gift(s).
