Ranger - Service Dog

We recently received an urgent plea for assistance from a military family who depends on their beloved service dog, Ranger. Ranger is a faithful companion to Marco, a former Army Ranger who has bravely served our country, enduring three deployments and subsequently grappling with severe PTSD.

Ranger has been an incredible source of joy, comfort, and support to Marco throughout his difficult journey. Unfortunately, a recent incident occurred where Ranger ingested something harmful, causing him immense pain and distress. In their time of need, the DASF stepped in to help, facilitating Ranger's emergency surgery at Denton County Animal ER, where the dedicated staff immediately sprang into action.

Extensive tests were conducted, and anxious hours passed as they waited to see if the ingested object would naturally pass. Regrettably, it became evident that surgery was imperative to save Ranger's life. After a tense wait, Ranger awoke from surgery, slowly regaining his strength.

As we celebrate Veterans Day, a time to honor and support our veterans, we are grateful that Ranger is now on the road to recovery. To honor Ranger's hard work of service, we are reaching out to those who are in a position to assist us in continuing to perform these extraordinary acts of compassion.
